A good operator follows this order:
Connect all microphones and instruments.
Label every channel.
Check input signals.
Set gain levels.
Create monitor mixes (if using monitors).
Balance the main mix.
Save the scene (ALWAYS save a scene of soundcheck, if updates are made that need to be kept resave the scene).
